2 more CAKES

This week was very busy and so these cakes were more a labor of Love than a creative outlet. However when it's all said and done I can't help but smile and feel good when I see what I have created.
Even though they are never perfect it is satisfying to try.
Or maybe it's satisfying cause I make them for people I love.

Under the Sea Cake
This was Jaxon's and Rustin's Birthday Cake.
It was and oreo cake with chocolate and blue layers inside with  oreo's in between.
I tried a few new things with this cake
1- I used marshmallow fondant for some of it. it looks smoother and tastes great.
2-I gave it a shiny with a mister bottle.
3- I made white modeling chocolate and painting it with food coloring dust to make the turtle. This was easy to make hard to model but really a fun challenge!

All Edible and so CUTE I thought.

American/Norwegian Flag Cake
This is a french vanilla and German chocolate cake with Dark chocolate ganash in between.
Covered with marshmallow fondant this was a very sophisticated cake. DELICIOUS!
It took a lot of precise cutting and still it came out looking a little crooked. They liked it anyway.
I made it for my Sister & Brother in Law who are moving to Norway.
This was a farewell cake in their honor.
